After losing 65-58 to Kansas State last week, Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes looked to rebound on Sunday.
In stunning way, they defeated Drake 113-90. Additionally, Clark was her normal explosive self. Clark set an NCAA Division 1 women's basketball scoring record with 30+ points versus Drake.
Caitlin Clark scored 35 points, six rebounds, ten assists, and seven steals in Iowa's win over Drake.
Clark scored at least 30 points in his second game of the season. November 9's triumph over Virginia Tech saw her score 44 points. Clark scored 27.8 points per game last season, a career high.
Clark has averaged 30.0 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 7.5 assists in Iowa's first four games, shooting 41.9 percent from the field, 28.3 percent from the three-point line, and 78.4 percent from the free throw line.
Clark's shooting percentages are down from past seasons, but she may need time to improve.
Clark is eligible for the 2024 WNBA Draft as a senior. Whether she will enter the draft is unknown. The COVID-19 season extends her NCAA eligibility. She can return to Iowa for one more season and then join the 2025 WNBA Draft.
Iowa moved to 4-1 after beating Drake. They defeated South Carolina in the Final Four but lost to LSU in the NCAA title last year.
